Sydney Workshops

Veema recently went to Sydney to attend two training workshops related to EEG and MEG analysis.

BESA workshop: a 2-day intensive course (held at the Sebel in Parramatta, Sydney) on how to use the source analysis and dipole localization software for EEG and MEG research. The course covered everything from how to set up your EEG experiment, co-registration with MEG, and pre-processing EEG data, all the way to statistical analysis. In addition to the BESA workshop, Veema attended a BESA related statistics workshop held by the CCD at Macquarie University.

EGI international summer school: a 5-day course on EGI EEG equipment and analysis (held at Coogee Bay, Sydney). A very detailed and hands-on course that went through the basics of EEG signal all the way to setting up an EEG research lab, proper net application skills, understanding experimental design, how to optimise designs using E-prime with Net station software, pre-processing using net station (dEEG), and specialist topics (time-frequency analysis & source analysis).

Veema thoroughly enjoyed both workshops and felt that they were extremely beneficial in terms of her PhD related work, especially the source analysis related information.
